My husband and I were losing hope that we would find the right home. We needed five bedrooms and three baths for our large family but we didn’t want to go over $200,000. We needed to stay in the Mandarin school district and we wanted to move over the summer. The school year was almost over and we felt we had seen every house in Jacksonville.

We heard about Matt through one of our friends that just refinanced their home through North Florida Funding. Their loan officer recommended Matt saying if anyone could find what you wanted, it would be him. Knowing our financial restrictions, we immediately started looking at foreclosures. We found a diamond in the rough the very first day. But this was only the beginning.

As it would happen, we ended up back at North Florida Funding speaking with Alain Fiallo about financing. Matt told Alain about the condition of the home and Alain suggested an FHA rehab loan. This loan allowed us to finance the home as well as get a new roof, upgrade the kitchen counters and appliances, get new carpet, a have the entire house painted. It was a good thing we had plenty of time because it took just over two months before we could move in. However, it was worth the wait. We bought a 5 bedroom home in Mandarin for $176,000 and financed nearly $30,000 in upgrades. When all was said and done, we moved into the home after the renovations were complete and had nearly $50,000 in immediate equity.

We were so happy to have found Matt. He helped us find the perfect home at the beach. When we moved to Jacksonville, we knew we wanted to live at the beach but did not know much about the area. We spent our first day just driving around. Matt felt it might be best to introduce us to various neighborhoods to get a better feel for what we wanted.
